Canonizations: A festival of holiness

Next April 27 will be a great day for the Church of Jesus, the last two popes those are in the heaven will be recognized as saints.

Since the beginning of the Church, people who die in close friendship to God and, after dead, continue to pray for living people, what is proved through inexplicable miracles, are recognized as saints.

Our church has hundreds of saints, but some of them have special graces from God and made the difference for all the World while they were alive.

Popes John XXIII and John Paul II are examples of amazing men, those fought with and for the World, sharing the gospel and the Love of Jesus.

Saints Popes John XXIII and John Paul II, pray for us!

Amen!

Joy! Day of happiness for Church in Russia and Central Europe

Today, Dec 6, the Church celebrates Saint Nicholas of Myra: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Nicholas

I saw in the Blogger administration tool today that Russia is the country where most of visitors of my blog are from, and looking for some subjects for writing about the Catholic Church in Russia I discovered today is day of Saint Nicholas of Myra, who is patron saint of Russia.

In His infinite mercy, God inspires common people to do, and to be, extraordinary history changers, these people chosen by God use to be different of anybody else, their priorities are not the same of most of others.

Saint Nicholas was a children carer, helping poor children with their material and spiritual needs. Santa Claus legend has it begin in the life of Saint Nicholas.

Saint Nicholas had many problems as well, including unpleasantness with the Catholic Church of his age, where his contemporary brothers of clergy did not understand his way of sanctity.

Today, his deeds are remembered in all the Catholic Church around the World as examples to be followed for everyone. Peace, charity, poorness of spirit, love for poorer people, and faith in Jesus, these are some of the some marked behaviors of Saint Nicholas, and all of them are so much needed in our lives.

Saint Nicholas of Myra, pray for us, and in special for Russia and afflicted people around the World.

Pope to name new Church Doctors

Pope to name new Church Doctors

Holy Spirit gives us His gifts and Wisdom is one of them. Wisdom gift is a light in the dark of the World, pointing for us the way of God.

Some people are blessed with a special Wisdom from the Holy Spirit, and the Church recognizes these people for their writings, ideas and teachings, for example St. Augustine, St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila, and so on.

These people highly blessed with Wisdom of the Holy Spirit are named Doctors of the Church, and their productions become directions for all Church in the World.

Let's give thanks to God for the new Doctors of the Church and follow their teachings in the way of God.

Amen!
